PLEASE KEEP TO THE PATH

This image is on my computer desktop and also in a frame. I took this photograph at Martin Mere, Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Burscough, Lancashire.

Out of all the exotic birds, it was this pair of native mallards who caught my eye. I like the sign because it is a positive sign, telling you to keep to the path, rather than keep off the grass. Of course you could pass by this sign and not be able to take such an endearing and comical image again. Needless to say, the ducks sat there, for most of the afternoon. This was until of course, a young child ran across and disturbed them.

  2. Hi Valerie, it is nice to meet you as well. Many thanks for your comment and follow. I think it is good to read or listen to inspiring things as and when you can. Certainly is a lot of joy in music and books.

  3. I enjoyed reading this post....there certainly is a positive spin to the sign, and it is even more eye-catching thanks to the ducks : )

  4. Certainly is eye-catching thanks to the ducks. After all if it was just the sign and grass, I wouldn't have thought of taking the photo. It would have been just another time I had gone past the sign. It is amazing the number of times you can go past something, without giving it much thought, then get a couple of nice ducks there and you see things in a different way. I think other people must have taken the same picture that day, but otherwise it is down to luck if you see something like that (and have your camera with you).

  5. If ducks could read they'd know better than to act like this in a public place...so perhaps it's better that they never learn...
